"Elaine Kibodeaux, a once shy, easily embarrassed young lady, developed a
love for the stage in 1997 at Rayne High School under the guidance of Ray
Blum. She moved to Lafayette when she was18 in pursuit of a Broadcasting
Degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2001. At the beginning
of her first semester, she was surprised to find herself accepted into
Lafayette's first Improvisational Theatre Troupe, UL-Lafayette's Cult of the
Stage Monkey. In December of 2005, she graduated from college with her
Broadcasting degree, and was recognized as the Mass Communication
Department's Outstanding Graduate. After graduation, she continued to
perform regularly with Cult of the Stage Monkey until December of 2008, when
she retired from performing with the student group. As an “improvier” she still
has a great love for improv, and wants to expand her participation in the art in
any way she can, and has recently decided use all that she learned from her
peers to help others discover the fun of making it up as you go along. Elaine
has also been a performing belly dancer with Oasis Dance Studio in Lafayette
since 2007.
She has attended several improv workshops outside of Louisiana, and
performed at the Southeast Comedy Arts Festival (SECAF) 2008 in Mississippi.
She currently works as a traffic technician for a private consultant, and lives
with a cat, a roommate, and Rock Band 2."
